Emmy-nominated thespian Giancarlo Esposito has signed on to play Detective A.J. Bernard in the indie thriller Poker Night .

Actors Ron Perlman, Titus Welliver, Ron Eldard and Beau Mirchoff co-star in the Greg Francis-directed film, which is currently in production in Victoria, Canada.

Poker Night is about a young cop who is being tracked by a serial killer. Only the stories and tall tales he hears at the card game he regularly plays with veterans like Bernard contain the clues to his survival. Corey Lange and Alan Pao are producing, states Deadline.com.

Esposito is known for his Emmy-nominated role role as soft-spoken meth drug lord Gus Fring on AMC’s Breaking Bad, but we especially enjoyed his performance as “Buggin’ Out” in the 1989 Spike Lee film Do the Right Thing.

Esposito is currently starring on NBC’s Revolution. He plays militia Major Tom Neville on the J.J. Abrams-produced drama.
