Which SP do you move to the bullpen for good? I have way to many starters coming up and need to move one of my SP to the bullpen now. Here is my depth. http://www.simdynasty.com/depth.jsp?teamid=79100

of the three guys

Hairston

Burnside

Bratcher

Ideally Hairston would be the best cause it just converted to B Endurance, so has the lowest of the players listed. I want to compete this season(traded away my 1st rounder already, I think it could be the most solid closer of the ones listed.

But

I also have to keep in mind eventually i will have RPs coming up, so would Bratcher be a better stop gap, by far my weakest SP, just a hair into B in control. Never will be higher then the 5th starter in my rotation(with Higgins and Spalding coming up), so should i start grooming it to be an RP.

Burnside I dotn want to move, but maybe someone can convince me, let me know...

I would use Hairston as the number one guy.

I have done nothing worth noting in Sim dynasty.

i'd probably move bratcher. hairston and burnside are the two best pitchers, so they should be at the top of the rotation. unless you're a 120 games from my best bullpen pitcher guy, in which case move hairston.

signature? we don't need no stinking signature.

The "best bullpen guys" are still a season and half to 2 and half seasons away..

I also think Hairston will be a better move cause the in the bullpen you receive about 15 less ICs, so Bratcher is 26OS and Hairston is 28OS so im thinking it would be better to get bratcher more conversion chances.

and probabky switch them later in the year periodically so Hairston can get a bunch of statrs o it doesnt get the 10 decline.

You can easily develop 5 or 6 starters at once. Get one really good mentor, and rotate the bottom 4 pitchers from the rotation to the pen.

Spalding should come up, he's OS25 and could use a few extra endurance improves. Bratcher should be allowed to improve some more (unless you know he's at the very bottom of those grades, then the bullpen might be the way to go).

Use Cabrera as the 5th starter and then you can get a good mentor score for your relievers by getting a couple of decent mentors.

I would dangle bratcher as trade bait to get more RH power bats, otherwise he's ur 5th sp and its pointless to have them as good as bratcher for what 120 iP and 23-4 starts

I agree, I dangled it for the past 3 seasons, for now i'm going to stick it in the bullpen try to get as much IP out of it, worst case scaenario it becomes an RP, which is a need, but I'm goign to keep trying to turn it for a ML ready releiver or a vet abt that can help now.

I would use him and Hairston as relievers 3 moinths each and start them the other 3 months so they don't lose endurance. If i was gonna trade himi wouldgofor an excelllentcloser and a state of the art hitter

Oh man that would be ideal..

If you see my Depth I got another SP comign up and I am also a believer in not wasting a decent pitcher in the 5th spot in the rotation, so, I'm thinking about taking the endurance hit and just making it into a RP, I always feel like I get F'd when I put a SP in the bullpen by ABE so maybe making it an RP wouldnt be the worst thing.

take that 5th SP and whomever u wind up closing with and split it until u trade him. If ur gonna stick him full time in the closer spot he wont be as valuable a trade asset. He's a young and good SP even if you get a magnificent closer and a first its better than converting him to closer, because then in essense what you've done is trade a SP 250 IP, for a RP 120 IP.

yea ill prob do that for this season, split the time, so it doesnt end up and RP, but if I dont get a trade for it by the end of next season, I'm going to strongly consider just converting it to all time RP and keeping it for good. I agree it loses trade value obviously as an RP, but this league is pretty stingy in trades for players(literrally teams want Bratcher and another one of my prospects for a A- releiver, its insane). and the sad part is that the 3 teams with the abundance of young RPs and lacking of SPs are all abandoned right now, so its kind of a waiting game there too.

my relievers tend to get nearly the same # of ICs as the SPs, maybe like 2-5 less at worst...what are you doing to your relievers to punish them so?
