The Washington Capitals take on the Carolina Hurricanes Monday night as they begin their journey that hopefully ends with a Stanley Cup.

The Washington Capitals will begin their NHL preseason Monday night as the Washington Capitals take the ice against the Carolina Hurricanes. Capitals fans have been waiting for their first preseason game ever since they signed Justin Williams and traded for T.J. Oshie. The Washington Capitals journey for their first Stanley Cup begins Monday with their first step.

Barry Trotz stated that Braden Holtby and Dan Ellis will be splitting the game against the Hurricanes. The Washington Capitals will not be using their regular season roster. They’ll be using a few of the expected starters and a few bubble roster players so that the Caps can make decisions about those players.
