Russell Westbrook is just as likely to surprise you with his wardrobe as his production.
Prior to the Oklahoma City Thunder's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Westbrook opted to arrive to the Staples Center in L.A. style. Either that or he just stole an outfit from the set of a 1990s rap video.
You decide.
Be bold or be nothing at all, right?
The Twittersphere instantly erupted with criticism of Westbrook's apparel, questioning what it is that he's wearing. Although he's never been one to hold back his love for fashion, Westbrook has reached a whole new level with this one.
Or, as ESPN's Mike Hill hinted, is it a new low?
Love him or hate him, you're going to have a tough time defending what he's wearing right now.
Westbrook is dressed as if he were Eddie Murphy doing stand-up. Or maybe he met the guys from A Night at the Roxbury .
Regardless of which angle you believe he's coming from, Westbrook is making a statement tonight. I'm just not sure what that statement is.
By the way, has anyone figured out what it is he's carrying? A purse? A man's pocketbook?
I don't know.
What I do know is, when you're the only player in the NBA to average at least 20 points and eight assists, you have a right to dress like Kanye West.
